VIP lift is equipped with user identification devices. All the authorised users own a special electronic key, such as contact-less radio frequency card or Dallas contact chip, that calls the lift and/or enables the selection of the destination station for the car. If an electronic key is already in use, for example as the house entrance system key, the VIP lift may use the same key. VIP lift shaft call button uses electronic key sensors instead of standard buttons. An authorised user calls the lift by placing the key against the sensor. If the lift is also equipped with queuing system, the direction button ("upward" or "downward") is pushed after placing the key. The lift control system has stored the data base of all authorised keys along with other information, such as key validity (a key can call the lift only on certain dates or time) or key usage for certain floors only.
VIP Lift User
The car panel may be equipped with an electronic key sensor too. In this case, there are other options available to improve lift users' comfort. For example, a tenant living on the third floor chooses his/her floor by simple placing the electronic key against the car sensor on the entrance floor and vice versa entrance floor may be selected automatically on the living floor. Also, the VIP lift may be used by persons, who are not electronic key holders; however, their lift usage may be restricted (e.g. they cannot select certain floors as destinations or they can call the lift to entrance floor only, etc.). If this is the case, the calling device is equipped with the standard button along with the electronic key sensor.
VIP Lift Administration
Thanks to VIP lifts the house keepers with VIP lifts receive more accurate data of lift usage going as far as individual users' rides files. Then, the lift operation cost may be distributed over the users in a more accurate and justifiable way.
If necessary, the keeper may authorise each user for trips to certain floors only or limit key usage on particular days or time. In public buildings with maximum lift operation, also priority usage may be of any significance. The lift then arrives in the shortest time possible after being called.
The lift keeper can also discover the last key used before a fault appeared or lift was damaged, which facilitates discovering the possible wrongdoer. The key data base in the control system is either independent and easy to maintain (entering or cancelling a key, limiting or enhancing authorisation) or linked to the building entrance system. The data base can also be maintained remotely (such as via Internet).
Entrance System
The house entrance is allowed on electronic key basis. The same electronic keys can be used for controlling the VIP lift and individual apartment House Security System.
